What is SIMLAF 2?
SIMLAF 2 is a DAW for macOS, coming December 2026. Every armed track is captured all the time, audio as well as MIDI. Play something you did not mean to record and the last 10 to 300 seconds are still there, placed where you played them. Open a movie to score or design sound to picture, and play NGOMA, the drum synthesiser that learns a sound from your own one-shot.

What it does
Record the take you didn't record
Audio as well as MIDI. Every track with an input and monitoring or record-arm on keeps the last 10 to 300 seconds (60 by default), whether or not anything was recording. One shortcut turns it into regions placed where you played them, each pass of a cycle at its own place.
MIDI, armed or not
Every instrument track keeps the last 16,384 messages it was given, armed or not, playing or not. One key turns the last performance into a bar-aligned region where you played it.
Video for sound design and scoring
Open a .mov, .mp4 or .m4v: a lane of pictures under the ruler, a Movie window with the frame's timecode, scene markers at every cut measured from the pictures, the movie's audio on its own track, and your mix printed back under the untouched picture in a new movie.
NGOMA, built in
A drum synthesiser on its own beat track, with a docked pattern editor. Drop in your own one-shot and NGOMA fits its physical models to it, so the sound stays playable rather than fixed.
SOVEREIGN sampler, coming
Our own sampler for SIMLAF 2 is in development.
Console mixer
A zero-latency channel strip and console EQ on every channel.
