SIMLAF / Our story
Our story
Built like the room is live.
SIMLAF is an audio software maker founded by H. Domboka. It makes audio plug-ins and virtual instruments for music producers and mix engineers, and is building the SIMLAF 2 DAW.
SIMLAF started with one obsession: the edge you feel when real musicians play in the same room. Nothing waits, nothing smears, and everyone hears the same moment.
I have studied audio DSP, mathematics and physics obsessively to chase that feeling. Every SIMLAF processing chain was conceived on paper first: the equations, the signal flow, the physics of strings, hammers, tines and drum heads. Only then did it become code.
Our audio products run on signal chains we designed for SIMLAF.
The engines were built to the standard live hardware demands, where nothing is allowed to arrive late. That is why 23 of the 35 products at launch run at zero latency by default. It is also where SIMLAF is heading: pedals, mixers and outboard gear running the same DSP. We decided the computer gets it first: the plug-ins, the instruments and a whole DAW.
